Lozz196
I`ve used the Ampeg at a gig, and I found it was no way loud enough for use in a full band. Very annoying, as I like Ampeg. Out of those listed, I`d go for the Trace - our other bassist has a 150 watt TE amp and it`s very loud - no problems in a band setting. Truckstop
I know it's unfashionable, but Peavey stuff is awesome. See if you can find a TKO or TNT combo over 250w. Yeah they look a bit 80's and clunky, but loud as hell and sound just fine. That'll keep you going for ages! And you'll have change for a nice set of decent strings Out of those on the list, I would also go for the Trace. Same as Peavey; excellent build quality, sounds great and will just keep on going! chris_b
I'd add Hartke to your list. Try to add to your budget. Another £100 will get you so much more.

tonyquipment
I'd go with the 1x15 trace Elliot. It's heavy but you'll know why when you play it. Will most definitely punch through the mix
TheGreek
Agree with the choice of the TE if you don't have back problems (cos you will have soon afterwards)...the only drawback with TE.
Musky
At this point I'm just going to say +1 to what everyone else has said (except Lozz's bit about the Ampeg, but only because I've never tried one).
lojo
You should get a second hand Ampeg PF for that, great amps
