My Highway One Jazz Bass

I have had this 2007 Highway One Jazz Bass for nearly a month now. I've been playing guitar for 10 years up until now. As with the HW1 series, the finish is really thin and smooth, allowing a quick and natural road worn look (you can see where the previous owners thumb rested on the body). The bass came with a few pickguards, one custom made mirrored, one original with Peter Hook signature and the current aftermarket tort pickguard. The seller mentioned it has seen atleast 250 or so gigs and was previously owned by Carey Willetts of Athlete (who reputedly bought a bulk load for a tour?).
One of the first things I wanted to do was add an ashtray bridge cover, however, these do not fit over the stock Badass II bridge, I bought a late 80's Japanese Fender bridge with threaded saddles (5 hole) that slotted in perfectly and honestly, I can't tell the difference. The bridge cover arrived today and because of the satin finish, I had no trouble screwing it straight in, without wrecking the lacquer or wood.
I'm very happy with it, being my first proper bass and it compliments my Highway 1 Stratocaster nicely too! I'm hoping along the line it will pick up lots of retro vibe and ultimately, mojo!

Nice Jazz. I liked the Highway One Series better than the Am. Special Series. They were a great series for a very reasonable price. The bridge ashtray looks good on yours also.
