cocco Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 I'm salivating at the thought of that bass with that pickup, if my Lakland wasn't packing a lindy fralin I'd snap that up. Quote
dannybuoy Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 If you get the Fender 'original' or the Seymour Duncan Antiquity, the plate is fitted as standard. Quote
Geek99 Posted April 26, 2013 Author Posted April 26, 2013 (edited) Sorry ham fist, I don't mind a white pickup cover but I'd like a standard looking pickup Thanks to the last poster for the plate tip Edited April 26, 2013 by Geek99 Quote
Geek99 Posted May 24, 2013 Author Posted May 24, 2013 The bass doc tells me he will be shipping early next week. Quote

Neck is tinted, with a darker tint on headstock, satin on neck and gloss on the board. Kluson reverse tuners Bridge has spiral saddles. I'm working on the pickup cover, not sure if I like it but don't hate it yet No-load tone pot for a fully leaded sound on 10 Plate is tort although I'm not sure how close it is to real tort used on a 73 - perhaps someone could advise ? Dingus Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 That looks absolutely gobsmacking . I would love to be wrapping my paws round that chunky - looking neck right now and knocking out some classic 1970's basslines on this thing , preferably through an Ampeg amp . More details of how it sounds and feels as soon as possible , please . . Quote
Geek99 Posted June 4, 2013 Author Posted June 4, 2013 Sadly was unable to try amplified due to small person in bed. Will try and fix that tonight. Just unpacked it and strung it. Very low action. The neck feels surprisingly slim actually Quote
Dingus Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 My Precision - style basses have got unusually slim and narrow necks , so that is probably why superficially this one looks a little more meaty to my eyes . I can sympathise with not being able to have a go on it yet - once I had a brand new bass delivered and , due to unfortunate circumstances , didn't even get to open the box for three and a half weeks ! Geek99 Posted June 5, 2013 Author Posted June 5, 2013 String tension is just perfect - I'm not sure I'd get a no load tone again - there isn't a huge difference although I can hear a little. Quote
