xilddx Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 I've been to three Francis Dunnery house concerts, they're really good fun. Quote
BassBus Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 This has been going on since time began. The only difference is maybe that it is being made professional. Our jazz band do an annual 'at home' gig as a fund raiser, we've played at private parties in 'front rooms' too. It is another way to help professional musicians though. Quote
SpaceChick Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 I guess they need to be mostly acoustic sets..... can just imagine the neighbour complaints if all the band whack up their amps and PA's Great idea though. Quote
Beer of the Bass Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Unfortunately, Edinburgh council is clamping down on them, even though the ones have been to haven't really caused any bother to anyone (or less than your average student saturday night flat party, anyway). Quote
