yorks5stringer Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Just had a pop-up saying 16 people are visiting this listing per hour..and going away horrified! "Raygunrelics" indeed. Quote
jezzaboy Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Raygun?? He wants to turn it on himself and do the decent thing! One of the biggest piles of crap I have been unfortunate to look at. Quote
jimbobothy Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Wouldn't look too out of place if you were playing a gig...... Quote

Roland Rock Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 The washer is quite a likeable quirk. The rest of it is hideous Quote
SlapbassSteve Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Still no takers for a genuine relic..? (is it me or is that a Vintage V4 p copy under all that abuse? There's a few on eBay for considerably less band new and unmolested! paul_5 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 I'm sickened to be in the same country as that. It's a real monster and no mistake! Quote
BetaFunk Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 sympathetically aged? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RELIC-STRATOCASTER-STRAT-NITROCELLULOSE-FUTURISTIC-RELIC-/400474023961?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item5d3e1ca819 Quote
itsmedunc Posted May 2, 2013 Author Posted May 2, 2013 I don't believe it. Two of them have gone. Perhaps the police removed them for evidence... Quote
neepheid Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I'll say something positive about it - at no time has the seller claimed it is an ancient Fender that was found in a loft/under a bed. Quote
Schnozzalee Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 A relic's not a relic unless they've wiped their arse up and down the back of the neck saying, "it's got that played-in feel" Quote
Grangur Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 You have to admire his guts to take a perfectly good bass, wreck it and really believe some [s]mug[/s] customer will pay over the odds for the damage. Only the other day i read on BC someone admiring their Fender or having a thin finish that damages easy for a "roadworn" look.. I know, it's me getting old, but I'd call that a cheap, poor quality finish. I'd take it back and say I expect better for that money. "It take all sorts to make a world" Quote
BetaFunk Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 It's a funny old thing is fashion. When i bought my 1974 Jazz over 20 years ago i got a few quid off in the shop where i bought it when i pointed out that it had a few dings and buckle rash. Nowadays the shop would be highlighting those dings and buckle rash as a badge of honour to promote the sale of 'this roadworn beauty'. Quote
