timmo Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Does anyone use a metronome for Bass, and can recommend one please? Quote
Roland Rock Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 As far as I'm aware, metronomes are pretty universal, and there are no bass specific ones. If you want really portable, download a free app on your phone. There are android and iOS ones available. I use one called Pro Metronome, which is great. Quote

How come we cant achieve anything without the use of alien technology these days? Are regular metronomes no good then? Quote
Grangur Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 (edited) This one's not portable in the sense that you can use it on the bus, or in Tesco. But I don't supose you do that with your bass much either. If, however, you need a metronome anywhere you have access to a PC then here's one: http://www.studybass...line-metronome/ On the other hand, I use a Korg TM-40 tuner and metronome: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Korg-Metronome-Tuner-Combo-Folding/dp/B003J5DEQA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1367097110&sr=8-2&keywords=korg+tm+40 (Other retailers are also available) Edited April 27, 2013 by Grangur Quote
timmo Posted April 27, 2013 Author Posted April 27, 2013 OK, thank you.I looked at that one, plus i was interested in this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Korg-KDM2-Orchestra-Metronome-Sounds/dp/B001EWN72Q/ref=pd_sim_sbs_MI_4 Quote

I was just thinking that nothing is more portable than an app, which he will need if he's out and about, taking pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge. Edit: and sharing them really quickly ;-) Edited April 27, 2013 by Roland Rock Quote
Thunderbird Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 I use one of these its great http://www.djmmusic.com/Itemdesc.asp?ic=WSM-240&gclid=CLq73bet9rYCFfQZtAodRE0AsA And it has good features and a nice loud click and its not a bad price. Junkyard Rocket Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 (edited) I use a Wittner super mini which is much nicer than an app or electronic one which beeps They're not cheap, but a plastic-cased version is also available Edited May 2, 2013 by Junkyard Rocket Quote
pete.young Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I've got a Korg MA-30, cheap, does everything you need a metronome to do and can be plugged into a PA to keep unruly drummers in order if necessary :-) Quote
Bill F Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Apps a perfect for your need. You just need to find a good one. I use for my guitar: "Cadenza: Tuner+Metronome". Seems to work pretty well. Quote
Westie9 Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 I've got an old wooden oak pyramid one in my music room. I never use it but it looks great against all the LEDs etc.... Quote
