I have never had the bass apart, if it ain't broke don't fix is my motto. I purchased the bass direct from Japan approx 3 years ago and it has never let me down. [/quote] I'll put my hat on it being a VSP with special Jap pickups which in my opinion are head and shoulders better than the US pickups fitted to CIJ/US models. It'll either be an alder or sen (Jap ash) body, definitely not basswood. That's a rare non-catalogue colour, too.... probably an Ishibashi special order or summat like. Gorgeous basses these... [/quote] Have a look in the neck pocket, if it IS a VSP there'll be a JB62VS or JB62-VSP stamp. Or JB62US or just JB62 if it isn't.
