DanEly
So I just got my self a Ampeg SVT-VR (think what you want ) I'm planning on running it with my Markbass 6x10 cab. Now I was thinking of covering the grill with some of the old style silver/blue cloth. What do you reckon? It might look a bit odd with the ports on show and no tolex or (I think anyways) it could look pretty cool. Now am I trying to pass the cab off as a Ampeg cab? No. I as much as I would love a Ampeg 410hlf AV - I don't have the funds. I will probably keep the mark logo on show too How could I do this? I could potentially take the grill off - I know its risky but it's flight cased It's just souring the cloth and and actually attaching it
pietruszka
I have a mark bass cab, the grill comes off by taking a screwdriver to the screws holding it on. Simple as that! If you're wanting a cloth grill, you could knock up a wooden frame with little support struts in the inside corners fairly easily. Cover that with the cloth and hey presto! It's cheap and if you like it, there you go. Dan

Chiliwailer
I've done this with vintage silver Fender grill cloth on my Mark Bass combo! I unscrewed the grill and glued the cloth to back of the grill on the edges (just in case I ever need to restore it) and then screwed the grill back on. I kept the logo off though.
