Rayman
Would a guitar pedal, like a Boss DD2 or whatever work for a microphone? I want a delay option to stomp on during gigs for the lead vocals, so I want to run the mic into a pedal and punch it in and out in the same way that you do for a guitar. Would that work? andydye
I suspect it wouldn't work 'in line' but there'd be no problem with it as an insert on that channel (with the right cable) I shouldn't have though!?
fretmeister
There are loads of better options http://www.andertons.co.uk/live-vocal-fx/pid28537/cid747/tc-helicon-harmony-singer-vocal-effect-pedal.asp http://www.bossus.com/gear/productdetails.php?ProductId=1043 http://www.tc-helicon.com/ I have a Boss VE20 but I'm thinking of getting one of the newer ones that the guitar runs through for intelligent harmony settings
Thatguy59
If you're looking for something cheaper you could get a cheap rack multi effect such as one of the zooms or peaveys (I got a zoom 1201 and a peavey deltafex for £35 combined on gumtree) and the appropriate foot switch and use that in the insert channel on a mixer, if available. As for the question in hand I have often wondered if I could do the same with my line 6 m9 or something and use a guitar based effect through a microphone.... Maybe I'll run a quick experiment when the rest of the house aren't sleeping hehe. A quick google suggests that you'll have to adjust the level from the mic, using a pre-amp or something, but it's probably achievable (check here http://www.gearslutz.com/board/live-sound/171977-live-vocal-through-guitar-pedal-setup-question.html )
