daft question perhap, but what do these sound like playing a straight up bassline - soul/funk etc.
all the clips i find on youtube are people playing it like a guitar, or putting it through an overdrive etc.

Here's a clip of Jack Bruce playing his with Graham Bond in 1965 - this certainly shows it off as a traditional sounding 'proper' bass guitar.
