PURPOLARIS
Hello to everyone from a newbie. I still bid on it to see if he was for real. I've won but not heard from him, surprise surprise. Told him he was a conman and I was leaving negative feedback. I'm not bothered about the guitar and amp, I've bought and sold plenty of them on Ebay. It's the description and the fact that at the bottom of it in tiny writing he's put "This is just the book from the fender kit and not the whole guitar pack". Have a look at the size of the description font and then look at the font for the above line. He was obviously trying to con someone into thinking they were getting the guitar and amp but it was only for the book.
BigBeefChief
So why buy it?
PURPOLARIS
To stop someone else getting ripped off. I only noticed it myself after I'd put my first bid in. Obviously he won't be getting sent any money for it.

wateroftyne
Umm... I'm trying to sympathise, but... Put eBay down and walk away slowly. Sorry.
Musky
Seeing as how ebay make it difficult to alert bidders and do little if anything to stop blatent scams, it seems a reasonable enough thing to do. As long as ebay don't give you too much grief if he files a non paying bidder report...
MacDaddy
This is just the book from the fender kit and not the whole guitar pack Basschat doesn't do a font as small. A tad naughty I'd say, but Caveat emptor or some such b0ll0x.
Mottlefeeder
I don't see what the OP is getting at. The item for sale is described, and the small print refers to the image, to avoid confusion with the original packaging, which presumably no longer exists. BigBeefChief
Either way - I love the idea of buying in protest. I can now justify my online pornography subscriptions to my missus. Dubs
i can see what the OP is getting at but i dont know if i would have gone as far as bidding on the item "to stop someone else getting ripped off" and then start a thread about it on BC. This sort of thing is pretty common though isnt it, so if someone gets scammed by it then let it be a lesson to them. If someone was to get scammed £37 for a book when they thought they were getting a guitar starter pack then it's not the end of the world. The fact the seller has "0" feedback would alert anyone with any kind of common sense to take a closer look at the listing and if it was expensive then you should get in contact with the seller directly anyway to possibly create some sort of rapport just for the sake of piece of mind. this is just another example of why i avoid ebay as much as i avoid trapping my nob in my flys after i take a piss

PURPOLARIS
Exactly my point, he goes on to describe the guitar and amp and then sticks in the bit at end about the book. Wannabe conman - end of.

budget bassist
To me it just looks like he's copied someone else's review off harmony central. and as for the small print at the bottom, the photo doesn't look like a book to me, i think he was trying to scam someone.
