Dave Vader
Tim's a great player too. His lines on The Long Run are great. Yep - he was only around for the last album and tour, and the 'new' album (which is mostly junk IMO) but, in total, he's technically been in the band far longer than Randy. I don't agree that they went t'pot after Bernie left. The post-Leadon albums are awesome, IMO.
Tis the joy of musical opinions, I just liked the rootsy sound, and not so much the massive stadiumy Hotel California thing. I should probably have just said different. Like post Syd Pink Floyd is different (and I like it less). Has Guy Pratt been in Pink Floyd longer than Roger Waters yet?

As a youth, I espoused the contemporary herd thing that held the Eagles to be irrelevant coke-snorting Hollywood dinosaurs.Time passed and I realised I was wrong and they were rather wonderful. That admirers of this ensemble must go in apprehension of public mockery is entirely lamentable and demands immediate legislation. cloudburst
Just watched the DVDs and I have to say I thought Frey and Henley came over really well and, contrary to some of you lot, I'd be more than happy to play in a band with them. Joe Walsh seems a really great guy and I'm pleased that he's back on track. I saw the Eagles in Northern Ireland on their Hell Freezes Over tour and loved it. Joe was wearing Yellow and Khaki camouflage trousers and a yellow body warmer. Nutter :-) His performance of Pretty Maids All In A Row was sublime. There's a track I love on the Long Road Out Of Eden album - Waiting In The Weeds. I'm not sure why so many folk knock the Eagles. Sure, the music isn't to everyone's taste. But NO music is to everyone's taste. If I ever end up in a band that has a fraction of their professionalism and success, I'll be more than happy. tonybassplayer
Saw them a few years ago at Lansdowne Road in Dublin. Great songs played and sung brilliantly but far too quiet which is the only ever time I have known that at a gig.
casapete
Only saw them once, at the Stafford Bingley Hall in 1977 on the Hotel California tour. They were truly awesome, especially 'new boy' Joe Walsh who also did 'Rocky Mountain Way'.Great band. Don Felder's book 'Heaven & Hell' is quite an entertaining read giving his version of what went on.
