steviedee Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Looking for something that fits on a Wizzy 10 for practicing. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Quote
Clarky Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 (edited) EA Micro, absolutely teeny and weigh less than a gnat's nadgers! There's one FS on the forum right now (not mine). I use it for DB and electric as it has two channels, one designed for piezo pickup. Edited May 6, 2013 by Clarky Quote
steviedee Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 Cheers Clarky I had a doubler which I thought was excellent. Quote
Clarky Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 (edited) The Doubler is just a Micro with added phase and notch filter on the left hand side. I can get all of that functionality for my DB by adding an fdeck (HPF high-pass filter pedal) into my signal chain in front of the Micro and of course you don't need those things at all if you are playing electric ... although you may want a Sansamp or similar if you want dirty sounds as the Micro doesn't do grit In short its a very nifty little amp! Mr Bassman Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Gk MB200 is a good alternative, I love it for upright and bg. It's got a headphone out and is cheap as chips Quote
Prime_BASS Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I think TC's 250 h thing will fit, plus you get the toneprint function aswell Quote
Beer of the Bass Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 The GK MB200 works well with my Wizzy 10 cab and is about as small as you can get - I often use it for the smaller pubs rather than lugging my 2x12" along. Quote
chris_b Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I'd go for an Aguilar Tonehammer 350 or 500. I just did and the full, fat, warm sound is fantastic. I've owned an LM2, F1, Staccato and RH750 and the TH500 is the best of the lot by a long way. Quote
Lozz196 Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Depending on sound required, I`d go for either GK MB200 if after a really crisp clinical - but still with plenty of grunt - sound, or Aguilar TH if after a warmer thicker, but still precise sound. Quote
thebassman Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 (edited) You could get a GB shuttle max 9.2 you get a clean and a valve channel in one amp, in a small and light box. I have just moved to one and couldn't be happier. Cheers Thebassman Sorry, just read the thread again, I am sure my suggestion would be physically too big. It is very light, but quite deep.
