Dingus
Beautiful basses . I'm sure they will be terriffic . I would prefer a black scratchplate - tortoise shell never looks right on a Music Man by virtue of the fact that the original pre - EBMM ones all had either black or white plates - but other than that , I would love one of these myself . Dingus
Also worth mentioning that if you are thinking of importing this bass from what is presumably a Music Man dealer in the States you can forget it : EBMM forbid export of their instruments from the U.S.A to countries who have EBMM distribution , except in very special circumstances . jezzaboy
Merchant City in Glasgow have a Ltd Edition Sabre with a "special" paint job but at £2345, they can keep it! drTStingray
I have major GAS for one of these. Probably a sunburst one with black plate. Interesting that the neck pick up has 16 pole pieces - and the coil selections include bridge H and neck single coil in combination (ie an HS), and a single coil at the neck - making it quite different from the SR4HH (the 2 band EQ also is substantially different). I saw the Merchant City one - they posted pictures on the Musicman bass forum - it's a stunning bass and the neck is unbelievable - however they would need to drop the price somewhat to interest me.............and I'm sold on the trans white/sunburst or diego blue variants anyway. AndyTravis
Stuck between a beautiful Classic Stingray I've played a few times now and one of these, the gloss necks are beautiful, and that was my bugbear with my old stingray, the satin neck. Think I'd get more use from a sabre it has to be said.
