MB1
MB1. 3 band Eq? Headstock logo? Best mention one of the string dampers has fell off and seems to be stuck to the control plate In the next picture?

Roland Rock
Can some enlighten those not in the know?
If you look at the headstock logo here: http://www.elderly.com/vintage/items/images/55U/55U-4382_headstock-front.jpg obviously it's an EB model. Doesn't the Gumtree one look just like that, but with the 'Ernie Ball' erased? This is a real Pre EB decal: http://basschat.co.uk/uploads/monthly_01_2013/post-9204-0-77109700-1359133075.jpg Added to that, the Gumtree one is 3eq, whereas pre EBs were all 2EQ I'm sure there are plenty of other things that the expert would spot, but those are the two main giveaways
The Dark Lord
Cool. Wouldn't have known that.
dlloyd
Looks like it might be a 1987/88 Stingray, assuming all parts are original to that bass. B prefixed serial numbers could be found as late as 1988, and the 3 band preamp and that logo design both came in about 1987. But, a previous owner has shaved maybe £200 off the value along with the Ernie Ball part of the logo.
EDITED ( Bugger roland rock beat me to it as i was doing this) As cloudburst said the logo was a dead giveaway its the wrong one for a start and someone has rubbed out the EB bit, .... see here for pre logos..... http://www.musicmanb...tompage0008.htm and as martin said 3 band eq is an EB addition, and did not come in till 87 http://www.musicmanb...tompage0019.htm 1 dot too many on neck. Address on back of head is a EB thing I may be wrong here but i have never seen a what looks like roasted Birds eye neck on a Pre EB. yorks5stringer
The address of the seller appears to be a yacht moored in a marina, if all the other issues aren't worrying enough!
cloudburst
Nice bass but DEFINATELY not pre eb
To me it looks like a sh*t bass. And I mean that in terms of finish alone. Who knows if it's otherwise okay after what looks like an unusual life for a Stingray.
But, a previous owner has shaved maybe £200 off the value along with the Ernie Ball part of the logo. Roland Rock
So is this bass a fake music man bass ?
I think it's a genuine Ernie Ball Musicman bass, but they're advertising it as a much more sought after Pre EB model, which it's clearly not.
