stoker
Thinking about getting a new practice amp as my little HiWatt is starting to show it's age a bit. Tempted by the Vox Pathfinder but if anyone can suggest anything else I could look at it would be appreciated.
shizznit
What's your budget? Do you just want to use it for home practice or have enough power on tap for a full band rehearsal? Edited May 8, 2013 by shizznit
Roland Rock
There's an EBS Session 60 going in the BC marketplace at the moment. I'd go for that :-) http://basschat.co.uk/topic/205971-for-sale-ebs-session-60-combo-as-new-l175/page__pid__2070297#entry2070297
stoker
Just practice at home and a £50-£90 budget.
stoker
I am quite tempted to see if I can track down a T-60 combo from the turn of the century.
Lozz196
Many on here seem to rate the Line 6 Lowdown 15 - and having herd these amps, I can see why. There`s one on evilbay at present for £100. Other than that, my faves are either the Ampeg BA108, or Fender Rumble 15. Both have a nice rich warm sound to them.
stoker
I do like a rich warm sound. I'll have to have a look.
omikin
I picked up a 4 month old Fender Rumble 15 from eBay for £31 last month. I used to have an Orange Crush 35 and this is smaller, lighter, and with a much nicer tone. Definitely spot on for home practice.
charic
Line6 Lowdown 110, should find one second without much issue
jimcroisdale
I wish I'd had a small practice amp when I first started. I played unamplified and developed a hard-hitting style (just to hear myself) that took years to undo. :-(
Lozz196
I still suffer from that, and that`s due to when i started playing in a loud band with an under-powered combo. I should have grown out of it by now, but it`s kind-of "me".
stoker
Luckily amplification on the band front is not a problem. It's just for home noodling there is no point firing up the 300W Trace as we like a our neighbours.
