vegas_hooker Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 Just out of curiosity really...the pedal board thread isnt doing it for me in this respect. What pedals do you folks use for GAIN!? What would you recommend? Whether its sonic death terror or a bit of smooth warmy goodness. Currently running a chain of death with a sans amp BDDI, fulltone bassdrive and a maxon ROD880. The last sound man who engineered my band shook his head when i sound checked. My guitarists sounded like they were playing mandalins. Quote

crez5150 Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 I have a David Eden Metro Combo with 2 x 10 ext cab.... the amp has two channels that I set up one with more gain for a bit of limelight!! Quote
DrGonzo Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Do you mean what high-gain pedals do I use? Sansamp 3-Ch Pre into Digitech Bass Driver into (Chorus) into D*A*M BEZekiel Custom into T-Rex Bass Juice All outputs are pretty much flat out to drive the pre amp in my VBA so there's rich valve compression when the BEZekiel is on... Tayste, was it you that helped design the Ezekiel? I still get amazed by that thing! Quote
Kev Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 i use a DHA VT-2 custom, boss odb-3, and effector 13 2add for gain, the effector is also for sale Quote
umcoo Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Hey Nath, just using my DHA still at the moment. Gonna be looking for a separate fuzz when I'm earning though. I've never seen a pic of your pedalboard...share the wealth! Quote

There has to be more out there that get a kick out of unleashing hell on a 4 string. Quote
DrGonzo Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 (edited) Kev, I might well take that effector off you at the end of next week when I get paid... Can you wait? I am certainly a lover of all out bass thunder! Edited June 23, 2007 by DrGonzo Quote
thumbo Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 I use a Fulltone Bassdrive. It sounds especially phat with my 70's P-bass. It's nice! Quote
s_u_y_* Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 EBS MicroBass II. I have my "clean" channel which I like a bit dirty anyway when using passive basses. I then use my second channel to increase the gain a tad and boost my lower-mids too for a fuller fatter sounds. Nice to fill some space during the guitar solos as I'm in a three piece. I would love to go all out fuzz, but it just doesn't suit my band at all. Quote
