John Schoen
Not likely. Music Store is big enough to laugh at John Hall if he would threaten them with legal action, their annual turnover is almost ten times that of RIC.
RhysP
Maybe Rickenbacker will look kindly on them as they are based in "The old country".
Musky
They've been selling these for quite a while, so maybe there is something in the idea that they're not afraid to go toe to toe with JH. It looks to be identical to (the now possibly defunct) brands Jayro/Anniversary.
Lozz196
Interesting that The Backer police aren`t going after these, as they`re too big. I`ve always liked Rickenbackers, but do think they way they do things is a bit rubbish, school bully-ish in a way - I can take him so I`ll have a go, but he`s bigger than me so I`ll keep out of his way. throwoff
You're probably right. Music store are massive. They would likely defend and law suit ferociously
Stacker
Trade Tang and AliBaba have loads of basses like that, even a lush double-necked fella. brensabre79
You're probably right. Music store are massive. They would likely defend and law suit ferociously
not only that, if they lost they would set a precedent for everyone else to use and the floodgates would open with Ric copies being sold all over. I guess they can't take that risk. There are other places that sell Ric copies openly on their website too. Its part of the reason I object so much to Johnny & co. going after somebody selling a 40 year old bolt-on Hondo copy on eBay for £200. Matt P
Isn't music store the company that's just taken over dv247? I've always fancied a ric but the prices and actions of the management have put me off the real thing, these look pretty good though! Hmm really wish I didn't have cash burning a hole in my pocket! martthebass
Hmmmm, interesting. I'm not a lawyer but I've had to fight a number of licensed/patented tech issues over the years. Reading through the BC topic RIC would appear to have a cast iron case in terms of defending their trademark, however IIRC they have to fight all Transgressions brought to their attention - they can't pick and choose their fights..... Oversoul
Yes, I would not imagine that happening, it would most likely end in something like the Fender issue, and BOOM, 10% variant copies everywhere.
Great Caesar's ghost! That's £248.53 for a 4/12 shipped free to the UK. Slap on the customs and you're looking at about £330.00 Mind you, it's a bit horrid, that purple (ymmv, etc.)
iiipopes
Ladies and Gentlemen, you underestimate RIC. That's all I'm going to say.

Stacker
Yeh, I fancy one, too! They do other colours: black, natural and maybe red. You just gotta search. My worry would be if the twin-neck arrived in bits but i think AliBaba uses an ESCROW-type payment service. Let's all buy one!!
