I subscribe to the newsletter from Kahler trems and this months installment had a link to this:

I normally don't like the looping stuff but the trem and the bass made things more interesting. It's a fretted bass to the 12th fret, then fretless the rest of the way. Just thought it was a really good idea...

I didn't really like the bass itself but the idea of the lower fretted, higher fretless thing.
