Damonjames
A couple of weeks ago I was quite dejected about the lack of quality bass gear available to try in music shops. Someone suggested I get in touch with Drew at the Manchester Bass Lounge, which I had never heard of before. I will warn you now, if you have cash, and quite possibly even if you don't there is a VERY high chance you will walk out with something!!!! He has an amazing range of quality gear, and Drew is very helpful, and patient. I was quite overwhelmed with the choice, I thought I knew what I wanted but it certainly helped to have a try of some great basses and get a feel for them. Anyone who is in the market for a new bass, drop him a line, or check out his website manchesterbasslounge.com he is a top bloke offering a great service! Thanks Drew! Pjpundit123
Yep thats where I got the Overwater Aspiration prototype (which is amazing) and I didn't even have to drive to Manchester, Drew is very happy to arrange a courier if you fall in love with his stuff. I can't wait until the next time I am in the area as I have always loved Gordon Smith stuff... Check out the Gryphon, it was a close run thing.. Definitely get a big high five recommendation from me.
Pow_22
Resurecting an old thread after my second MBL purchase. Went down on saturday morning to have a look at the Ashdown VS212 cab Drew had on his website. As usual there was a stunning variety of basses hanging from the walls (a lot more amps/cabs/combos this time too). I mentioned by interest in the '74 P bass id seen on their site also and was immediately hooked up with the P bass thru the Ashdown cab. Had a good noodle and a good chat about all things bass over the MBL's usual great coffee. Left with the Ashdown cab and now serious GAS for that there P bass! After my second visit it just reaffirms what i already knew - anyone in the area should book into this magical place!
