Hi,
I saw this Yamaha hanging in a local shop. They told me it was the LTD 2 version. However.. I'm not very certain about it since the yamaha website shows a different version. (The yamaha on the website has different tuners/ smaller name on headstock and the woofer pickup appears to be black.)
Could someone confirm wether this is the actual LTD 2 or not.
Thanks.

I'm sure there's a hundred threads on here regarding this and a thousand of Sheehan's interviews talking about it elsewhere...but...what exactly is the purpose of the scalloped frets?

It makes the upper frets a little easier to finger and bend. But thats my experience with it.

Its a gimick. If there was any real advantage to scalloping between frets then most manufacturers would do it...but there isn't, especially on bass.

I belive the theory is that it makes the frets seem like super jumbo size and strings easier to bend. Most guitarists who have tried it are reported to find it wierd...but Richie Blackmore did it on all of his strats...and he was the man!

I had a black sparkle anniversary model, lovely sounding bass, very well made, but a bit like the Fender Steve Harris, the necks are well chunky, for me to much so, but £775 is very good price, hope the OP has done the deal.
