Musicman passive wiring for an OLP?

Hello all.
I recently scored a Seymour Duncan SMB4D pickup to install in my passive OLP and I'm asking for suggestions as to what might get the best use out of it.
No pre amp, so what are the options?
Two Vol one Tone or the reverse?
Series or parallel?
A switch for the above?
I don't need anything too complicated, I don't usually touch more than the tone control during a gig.
Advice gratefully accepted.

If I remember correctly, these passive OLPs were wired up with a volume for each coil and a single tone. I think that's ridiculous, personally. Perhaps a three way switch to give you series/single coil/parallel operation, volume and tone?

I would go for 1 volume, 1 tone & series/parallel switch, if you did want more complicated you could add another switch for top coil/both/lower coil as well.

If you need a wiring kit made up I can do for you.

I'd go for one vol, one tone and a 3 way mini switch for series/parallel/single coil.

The switch would wire like this .....

Pretty straightforward if you have any experience at wielding a soldering iron at all.

On that particular pickup (I have one) for the wiring diagram I have linked to, the equivalent of North start is Green, North finish is Red, South start is Black, South finish is white.

They were all 2 vol 1 tone in parallel. Although I'd agree with all the comments saying to have the option of series. I never really had any great need to turn down a single coil, and I reckon not many do. You could put in a 2 band preamp if you wanted though, that would be cool.
