Ironsocks
Hello all, My friend has stumbled upon an Aria Pro II bass for sale but we cannot work out the exact model. I've found a few pictures online of similar models but none that have the 5 control pots. I'm guessing it has a 3 band EQ and possibly a balancer and volume pot. It has a Duncan Designed pick-ups, which suggests to me that this is a low to middle of the road jobby. I'm not sure if it's active of passive. I would assume active with the EQ but I'm no pro. I have no idea what woods are used, or even what the back looks like. From the pictures I'm pretty sure it's a bolt on neck, but again, can't be sure. The details the seller is giving are very limited but we have two photos. Any ideas anyone? I'm interested to know how much these things go for new. It looks nice, but looks can be deceiving. My closest guess would be a Aria IGB-68 Integra, but I'm guessing this model has changed through the years. Thanks in advance!

megallica
Noel is very knowledgable on all things Aria, he'll be along soon. Maybe it's just me but any seller who pictures instruments sitting on the ground, to me makes me think he doesn't look after them very well. I've heard great things about the Integra range and like some of the tones that Faith no more's bassist gets from his. Matt P
I think it's an IGB-65, I had a 38 as my first bass and a friend is still gigging his Integra, they're great basses and really good value, the pickups are a standard size if you feel like modding it but they sound pretty good with the original ones. I seem to remember that the necks are very comfortable as well and it never aggravated my bad back either. Matt
Ironsocks
Thanks for your help guys! Really appreciate it! Megallica - it's apparently in a pawn shop so I'm guessing they have no idea how to treat an instrument! And also why it's probably lacking so heavily on the description! Matt - after reading your comments I've managed to find the same bass but in black. I swear I spent the whole day hunting through all the models to no avail. Where've you been all my life! http://en.euroguitar.com/bass/aria/igb/65/143545.html Are they really worth £500 new? Not that that means a great deal but always helps to know. Also, is this the Billy Gould model? I know little about him other than he goes to war with his bass and gets one hell if a unique sound! Any reviews? Is it worthwhile for £250? Cheers guys! Matt P
hmm £250, my first reaction was that was a little high but a quick search on here shows that to be about right, personally as it's a pawn shop i'd say that if it plays well and the electrics are working then 250 is about right but i'd make an offer of 200 and see what they say, if they've had it for a while they might be flexible on the price. i bought a guitar last week that had a £190 price tag, made an offer at 130 and then we haggled to 150, it's always worth a try and the worst they can say is no! Joel
Apparently Billy Gould played an IGB-600 Integra, I was a bit of a fan circa Introduce Yourself - Angel Dust era but wasn't really aware of the instruments they played. Found this blog which is quite interesting http://ariabasses.blogspot.co.uk/2010/04/billy-goulds-aria-integra-bass-for-sale.html and if you have a lot of time on your hands you could trawl through these posts http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/aria-aria-pro-ii-club-306388/
