electriccheese
Hi all! I'm selling this Fodera Emperor: It's a 1997 Fodera Emperor bolt-on, alder body, 21 frets brazilian rosewood fingerboard, Norstrand nj4 (single-coils) in 70's position (one of the originals died and I changed them), drop-D tuner, and the updated preamp, with a switch to change the EQ points (two different highs, mids, and lows). The width at nut is 39mm, weights 4,0kg, and it can be adjusted with ridiculous low action. I had at least 8 Fodera, and this is the best of all for me. The slap is awesome, much more Marcus than it can seem. The bass is in good condition, it have some wear, but nothing important. The only thing to say is that have a ding at the bottom. I think it was refretted at Fodera shop, but I'm not sure. The frets are like new, and the neck is perfectly straight. Was purchased to Glenn at Austinbasstraders.com I'm selling cause I use a lot the bridge pup alone, and I preffer it at the 60's position. I'm not capable of rout this bass to move the pickup, so I want sell it, it hurts me see it unplayed... More pics (the nices ones are from Austinbasstraders.com): http://s296.photobuc...r?sort=3&page=1 Here's a track recorded on studio, direct to the desk. rogerwilliamsen
I have one completely like this only with 60' position Lindy Fralin pickups. If you buy this you will be happy for life. The Brazilian board and alder body is now round 100 years old.
molan
Now that is a very nice bass indeed! I really like the Emperor shape & it's rare to see a 4 as most of these tend to be 5's. Must consult my 'for sale' bass stash and see what has 60's position pickups. . .

electriccheese
Thanks for the comments! Yesterday I bought a bass that was mine years ago, so I can't accept trades unless is a Fodera with 60' pup spacing, or a fretless jazz bass (with the same pup spacing). Mikkoantt
Hi Molan you are very right about Fodera standard issue, but they made few patches( I don't know is this right word about, because my english isn't very good) in two thousand and something. My bass is original Monarch New Standard with two band eq. But I just changed original preamp for Mike Pope 4 band Flexcore and sound is by one word huge:) and there are more differencies to Monarch Standard. Neck is three pieces maple with angled headstock and there is ebony facing in the headstock. But I can put crappy i pad pictures of my bass if you wanted so. Yes and my bass's condition is absolutely near mint. Greetings - Mikko
molan
Ah, I think I know which ones you mean. I think they were built partly in-house at Fodera and partly by a third party company under Fodera's instruction. If I remember right the bodies were made by Fodera and the necks were out-sourced. I've never actually seen one in real life but I know there's a few of them out there Edited June 20, 2013 by molan
Truckstop
I think that's the nicest Fodera I've ever seen! It looks classic, sultry and stylish. Looks somewhat art-deco to me, probably the pickguard shape. Really nice, hope someone snaps it up soon! Alex
Mark_ii
Agreed, well photographed ........ I don't think you could have displayed it better. Most people shoot a guitar head on, but you've brought the body to the foreground and let the neck lead the eye back out of the shot......... perfect !!! You'll see a lot of people copy this angle ....... I'm drooling, wish I could afford it, one of the nicest instruments I've ever seen in a long while here. Thanks for the offer, but I need a fat sounding bridge pickup, so I need single coil in 60's position or dual coil pup... The first pic is not mine, is from austinbasstraders.com, were I bought the bass...
