Skol303
The "EQ ?? question" thread on here got me thinking... most bass manuals don't actually specify the frequency ranges of what's deemed to be "low, mid and treble" in terms of on-board EQ. At least mine don't. Of course it's always best to dial-in your preferred sound by ear anyway. But the studio geek in me wants to know more! It's obviously going to vary between different manufacturers, EQ types, etc, but I'm guessing that for argument's sake it's something like a +/- 10db boost/cut around the following bands: BASS: 35-110Hz MID: 350-1100Hz TREBLE: 3.5K-11KHz ...and probably with a fairly gentle 'Q' setting, something like 1-1.5 or whatever. Anybody got any thoughts/info on this? Edited May 22, 2013 by Skol303
Dave Vader
My thoughts are that your geekery knows no bounds Paul. And it probably varies a lot.

Lfalex v1.1
The various eq manufacturers' sites often have this sort of info. All I know is the ones I've used and liked, and the ones I've used and haven't liked. Worst? Fender and Status Best? The one in my NS CR5 The Vigier is good, but the fixed boost/cut is a bit extreme The MEC 2 band is OK. Never tried any bespoke ones. I'd expect East and whatnot to be good/flexible. Edit +/- 12 or 15dB is not uncommon.. Edited May 22, 2013 by Lfalex v1.
xgsjx
On the LMII the centre frequency for each is as follows... Low 40hz ±16 db Mid Low 360hz ±16 db Mid High 800hz ±16 db High 5khz ±16 db The VPF does a 360hz cut (& also boosts the lows & highs) The VLE is a low pass filter with a range from 20khz to 250 hz (I read somewhere that it also slightly boosts @ 300hz or so).
