Anyone had any experience with this rack unit? From reading about it it seems to be one hell of a good distortion for bass. I cant find any audio samples of it though

+1 I'd also like to know if anyone has experience with one of these.

I have a Sansamp BDDI and was wondering whether it's worth 'upgrading' to the RBI.

I believe all the Sansamp bass DI pedals have the same sonic capabilities, be they the BDDI, the programmable or the rackmount (or the Landmark head which I own, which effectively combines a two channel rackmount bass DI with a 300W power amp)

...at least that what it says on Tech 21's website - if you go onto this site there are sound clips

i used to own one. you can get a great variety of warm, tighty, punchy, dirty and hard sounds etc etc.

as far as i'm aware the only difference to the pedal is the addition of a mid control. it's an item i really regret selling. it was part of my first forray into decent amps and i just didn't realise what i had, top piece of kit!

Im not sure if itll be your cup of tea, but if you have 'Around the fur' by the Deftones, the bass players runs his set up there through one of these.

Best on ear phones but it isnt silly loud, and sits just right in the mix.

I did some reading up on it and as it turns out a lot of people opt for the RPM instead, apparently it gives even better control and a nicer drive.
