Aren't these the ones you swapped out your 70's DiMarzios for? Not getting on with them? I find them quite dark. Not much top end but great for an old school P bass tone

Yes, I had the pickup in another bass, and then rotated it into my "Bitsa P" to replace the old Dimarzio. As you say, the Model P is relatively dark. High output, lot's of bottom end, and lots of mids, not so much on the top end. Still a great pickup. My Bitsa P is quite a dark bass in it's own right though, so it's not a great marriage with the Model P. I've just put a Fender orginal 60's pickup in it, which is much lighter on the bottom end and a better fit with the bass.
