I pulled my back earlier this week getting my stuff from my car to the rehearsal room (it's still in the car five days later) - so can anyone suggest a reasonable trolley? I don't want to go nuts here on the price and it doesn't need to be of world-tour quality, just good enough to transport anything up to a 4x12" sized cab about thirty metres. B&Q, Focus, whatever.

Thanks for the heads up.

I use this trolley from Argos;

I've tried many over the years and they have all fallen apart sooner or later, except for this one. I've no idea what the maximum weight it can carry is, or how heavy your 4x12 cab is, but I managed to pull 37kg (my speaker + a speaker for the pa) a significant distance on it yesterday. Ordinarilly I use it to get my speaker, amp and music to gigs about town. I've worked up many many miles on it in this way :-)

I've got a pair of Ashdown boxes and the guitarist has a Marshall 4x12...you know, I never thought of looking in Argos! I'm off to the gym at midday...guess what's right next door?

I got the Argos one on Saturday and it's fine for the job - at a stretch it would even double as a stand for my combo as the platform is angled a few degrees off the vertical. It's actually for fishing equipment!

Great minds think alike, I do this all the time, it raises the speaker from the ground almost as much as your average milk crate. Used in this capacity, it also allows for a fast getaway at the end of the gig :-)

The pneumatic tyres are the business IMHO!

Several people I know are using £25-£30 hand carts from Homebase. Another has just brought a heavy duty hand cart from a ship's chandler shop.

does anyone know where I can get a 'skid' or something similar, like the stuff they use at festivals?

thanks[/quote]
