IK Multimedia downloads Authorisation Manager

....is driving me nuts. Trouble is, the customer support takes a minimum of 24 hours to respond to every question. I aks a question today, I get a response tomorrown that I cannot action until three days later which them doesn't work so I ask another question, wait another 24 hours and so on.....

After this month's Composition competition, I realised I needed to up my game in terms of better VSTs. The thing is, I have a truckload on my PC that I have never even opened so I went back to IK Multimedia and the emailed me the Authohrisation Manager so I can access them but my PC just spits the damn thing out (my music PC is NOT on-line so I can't use the AM on-line, obviously but I also cannot open it in off line mode because it won't open. AAAAARGH!!) Another two hours of my life gone on uncooperative IT.

What do you mean your PC just spits it out? It won't install or it won't run? Which version is it? Have you tried downloading the latest version from the site? Are you sure they didn't email you the mac version?

The emailed me a link and I downloaded the WIndows version. It seems to install then won't run. Version 1.0.9, the latest, I believe.

Have you tried running it as administrator (depending on which windows you're running)? Just right click the .exe and the option is there, for some reason it makes a lot of programs run perfectly that otherwise don't.

Ahh, I've just run through the offline process and it just generates a .html file to copy onto an internet PC that sends you to a link to put your serial numbers in, then generates a .xml file for you to copy back on to the offline PC. Unfortunatley you have to load the .xml through the authorization manager, so you probably can't get round it if you can't run the program.

Personally, if I'd already payed for the software I wouldn't feel bad about cracking it, but obviously you may not feel the same way.

The irony is the software came free with the Miroslav Philharmonik sottware I bought earlier this year so cracking it would not be that big a deal. I just don't know how to do that either!!

A no brainer deal going on for the next couple of days at Cakewalk.
Easy installation, just a registration and a serial number.
Seven gig of very, very useful all round sounds, and easy to work.
Dimension Pro VSTi dropped to just fifthteen quid.
Might be just what you need, rather than messing with the limited LE/Demo versions of the IK stuff.
