Saw them (or what's left of them!) live last night at the Ritz in Manchester.

Holy f*** they're good!

Probably the best group that I've ever seen live, incredibly tight, awesome bassist (Jerry Barnes), Nile was on brilliant for despite his health recently.

Oh yeah, and Johnny Marr (of Smiths fame) got up to play Le Freak!

I walk past the Ritz daily on my way home from work, so I loitered around like a groupie for a little while hoping to catch a glimpse of Nile et al (unsuccessfully).

Nile said he was feeling really sick that night, but the audience helped him through. Sounds like with the Bristol gig doing an acapella version of Get Lucky, his time in the UK has been very uplifting so far.

Oh my they're brilliant live. Seen them 4 times, 5th time in June at Mostly Jazz, Funk and Soul Festival in Birmingham.

They are fantastic.

I've read many times that this 'current' Chic is an awesome live prospect.

I love the way that Nile continues his current music stuff, but still takes the time to tour the Chic stuff as well.

I hope the BBC screen Chic's set when they play Glastonbury this year. Nile seems to be everywhere recently. I guess he's trying to get as much done as he can as he knows he has a limited amount of time left?

Having read his book, I think he's just a bit of a workaholic / "grab the moment" guy. There's been a lot of interest in him and Chic recently, and with Get Lucky getting, well, huge, his star is as bright as ever. Good luck to him, he deserves it.

Yeah, he's always been one for working as much as he could. I just think the recent mega-busy phase is to get as much done before the cancer won't allow him to continue.

Just got my tickets for this.....Taking my son to his first festival to see how he likes it.......I'm really looking forward to Chic !

Unfortunately, they have just finished playing Ireland, and I would have loved to see them! Hopefully they come back soon!
