As far as I can see nobody comes out of that a winner. Quote
jezzaboy Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 To quote the good lord Lemmy... I found out that if you have a guitar, women take their clothes off... And if you can actually play it, they take them off quicker!! Quote
Roger2611 Posted May 31, 2013 Author Posted May 31, 2013 Some interesting comments and some pictures I wish I also could "unsee"! some comments relate to the sound and feel of the bass compared to the guitar which is not really what I was getting at, soundwise the bass can certainly be a lot sexier but, to me, that confuses the issue more, I think a Les Paul Guitar looks way better than it's bass equivilent, a 335 looks better than an EB2? but not such a clear cut example, the SG certainly looks less gorky than an EB3 and quite frankly the Gretsch Falcon bass leaves me totally cold, I have deliberately avoided the Fender range because that, to me, is a tougher call and I suppose one for the bass guitar would be the Musicman range where the guitars just seem to look like tiny toys compared to their bigger (better looking) brothers Quote
seashell Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 A bass just looks sexier and more elegant because of the long neck. Guitars are all stumpy. Quote
Myke Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 No way, I've never seen a guitar with really lush shapes and wood grain and shizz! Quote
icastle Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 I need only a slight arm twist to persuade me to play guitar. I'm a bass player though, and I do sometimes forget how short the neck is on a Strat... and end up on the wrong side of the nut... Quote

Cat Burrito Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 I've noticed I get a lot of women talk to me when I play the upright bass. So echo those comments. Generally I think guitars and basses can both be very sexy instruments in the right hands. Less so the Keytar! Quote
