Tech Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Apologies to the mods if there's already a thread on this, have done a quick search and couldn't find anything. I'm after an amp that's gonna be buzz-free when plugged in. I'm currently using a Trace head with lovely tone but now I'm playing more weddings etc rather than pubs and clubs, the hum from the amp is becoming problematic. Any amps that are especially noiseless, or amps to avoid? Quote
umph Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 get it fully serviced and recapped and i'll bet it shuts up! Quote

Bill Fitzmaurice Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Make sure the fault is the amp and not the bass. Quote

Mr. Foxen Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Pretty much all amps should not make noise when they are working properly. Quote
BassTractor Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Just so it's mentioned: Is it only a hum, or is there a nosiy fan as well? Silent fans and fan regulators work wonders. Good luck! best, bert Quote
Tech Posted June 2, 2013 Author Posted June 2, 2013 Thanks for the help guys. The hum sounds electrical, I think there is a fan in there but it's pretty silent. I never even considered the amp might just need servicing. Will take it in somewhere and see what they can do. Cheers again! Quote
