Having a rare no pressure morning listening to music and I have to say The imagined village is simply the best and most inspiring musical project I've been touched by since my youth.

That's all

Great aren't they! Global folk fusion. Delighted you like them so much! I'm privileged to play guitar with Sheema, The IV's sitarist (she's also a bassist), she's putting a solo album out later this year and a few of the IV guys are on it too, I just tracked the guitar for some of it. The Imagined Village are wickid live, I hope you manage to catch a show at some point. I'll pass on your lovely comments :)

Scary, I remember Martin Carthy doing "Cold Haily Windy Night" as part of Steeleye Span forty years ago and then it was also regarded as ground breaking!

Yep me as well.

The problem with 'groundbreaking' is that the soil eventually subsides and you have to do it again. ;)

.. and to give credit to MC he has consistently come up with new ideas and musical partnerships over the years.

Being a long-time folky I have encountered several innovative bands and concepts. The Imagined Village are up there with the best. A few of the bands that I remember with fondness over the years include Fairport Convention, Alan Stivell Band, Steeleye Span, The Albion Band, Planxty and Afro Celt Sound System. Anyone care to add to the list?

Now cueing up Seth Lakeman on the Folk Jukebox.......

You might like this then.

Equation were a folk 'supergroup' consisting of Seth Lakeman, his brother Sean, Kathryn Roberts and Kate Rusby.

I ordered a copy on the basis of the "reviews" here - arrived yesterday - listening to it now..really enjoying it...

Since getting into Kate Rusby (what a voice!!!) I've been enjoying Folk a lot more than I would have admitted to years ago..Lozz196 and I went to a gig recently (lent a bass to another BCer, Lawrie) and really enjoyed it - especially the Harp player - so much so that I'm committed to a Harp player being at my bedside when I die...

Can recommend this album thoroughly
