Clarky
I bought these last week, looking for a Scott LaFaro type pizz sound but without the hassle and expense of real gut strings. However, my old German flatback bass is very boomy and these just do not suit it, they just come across as too indistinct/muddy. They slap very well indeed (well, as far as my rudimentary slapping goes) but don't have the tone or volume I was looking for as pizz strings - and my band is 100% pizz. In perfect condition (less than a week on my bass and they don't have silks to destroy by fitting/removing) and cost me Euro 100 (£80) last week. So how about £70 posted to get you some pre-stretched, otherwise as-new strings which would be wonderful for a predominantly slap bass setup? thisnameistaken
I've got a set of these on my laminate bass and I'd agree with Clarky they have a great slap click - the best I've heard from a synthetic string - but played pizz they don't really suit a boomy bass.
