sofa#666
Ive been "attempting" to learn some Primus tunes today. Specifically 'john the fisherman' and 'southbound pachyderm'. Im predominately a pick user, so learning Claypool's lines is a massive shock to the system! I like a challenge though

the_skezz
Been spending more time on the drums than bass recently but due to being knackered after work today I instead took half an hour to learn most of the bass to Stone Roses 'I Am The Resurrection' - great fun to play to, brill line. yepmop
Bernadette - 4 tops, just for my own enjoyment. Also Sittin' on the dock of the bay as I think it's a good song that I can practice singing and playing at the same time.

SpaceChick
Quality tunes there Gary We've added 'Time' into our set. That's a fun bassline, rhythm varies a lot and also varies between staccato notes and sustained notes. Good fun

rk7
I decided to look at the notes in the blues bass book for hoochie coochie man. I learned it and realised it actually hasn't improved my ability on the bass. Jeff Berlin was right.
Hoochie Coochie Man! Cool tune. Have you tried the Albert Cummings version, medleyed with Dixie Chicken? We play that one, and it usually goes down really well with the punters. jmchich
Started on Madhouse by Anthrax in my lesson today. Gonna be a long time before I can play it well at full speed, but great fun! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGHsxMqpL0c

SpaceChick
I've been learning Treasure by Bruno Marrs for the fun of it (and to work on my slapping!) I should be learning Great Gig in the Sky as we are going to add that into the set, but as both keys and guitar said they wouldnt have chance this weekend, I decided to do something non Floyd
paulconnolly
As posted elsewhere; Barracuda - pretty straightforward but the bar of 5/4 in the verses threw the guitarist (is it in the guitar hero version? I really must teach him to count ) In That Quiet Earth, that's a bit more challenging especially the rhythm of the chunky bit at the end. gary mac
This evening, been playing along to and attempting to learn Breaking Down the Walls of Heartache,
Maude
I just been learning 'Stuck' by 'Caro Emerald', 'Here comes the rain again' by 'The Eurythmics', 'If it wasn't for love' by 'The Steeldrivers' and funily enough 'I kissed a girl' but the unplugged version with Dave Brubeck intro for our acoustic band (doublebass). Were doing the Steeldrivers one with a rockabilly feel which is always fun
Maude
Oh and I've also got to learn this week for a big gig at The Eden Project, 'Dancing in the Dark' and 'Make me smile (come up and see me)' at the request of the CEO of BT Cornwall ............... hmmm, still BT are paying big bucks so I don't mind
