im after another solidstate head,my dp laney keeps cutting out,and i cant get the right tone from it with my rick 4004 typical 80s head too much going on,also i dont want an amp with eq sliders i just want bass mid treb vol gain knobs,im going through 215s,im looking at ashdown mag 300 atm,not sure how good these would be with a 4004,also was looking at peavey tour 450 but has sliders,i really want marshall 35** but they not coming up often,also looking at ampeg micro...i got couple of hundred to spend....so what do others play ricks through or suggestions...

I don't have a Rick but I have a hartke lh1000 and you don't get much more simple than that,only 4 or 5 knobs but I think you can get a really good variety of sound from it. If your local,you are more than welcome to come try it!

A little more & you could pick up a 2nd hand Markbass LMII. Never played a Rick through it though, so maybe worth trying one out first.

Thought my rick sounded pretty good though a my LMII if I do say so my self. I prefer it though a tube head though

Just get one from the FS section. Hartke, Markbass or GK, they'll all be better than the Laney (IMO).

Make sure it's at least 500 watts.

Cheap, simple and good. You can pick them up for 350 new and 180 2nd hand if you hunt about.
