Hmm. I was there in '88. I also saw them in 2011 at the O2. There's a huge back catalogue but I would be surprised if they play much of it.

They've moved on quite a bit. Think I have too now...

Taking my 14 year old son tomorrow, his second ever gig (RHCP last year was his first). I promised I'd take him as soon as they announced, so QotSA, Motorhead and Alice in Chains are a bonus!

I was there in '88 and still spare a thought for the families of those two lads that didn't live to see the end of the day's acts. RIP and stay safe to those that are gong this year. I live about 30mins drive from Donington but I'll be heading North tomorrow and stay out of the way.

I really want to go to this one year, between Maiden, Motorhead and Sabbath it's pretty much a dream team. But I go to Rebellion every year, and until I start earning, any other festivals are out. I expect full reviews from all attending though!

I saw them last year (I think) was seated because I was with my dad so unfortunately didn't see too much of Steve Harris, would love to be there tomorrow though!

I went one year, can't remember which one. All I know is that Iron Maiden were on, possibly Skid Row (who I wasn't particularly interested in) and we drove round the campsite surfing on the roof of a hired transit van

I think that may have been the same year I went. Skid Row, Slayer & the Almighty played in '92.

Setlist for this tour is based on the '88 show, largely drawn from Seventh Son.

On the train on my way to Donington now and am even more excited than I was yesterday :)

Slayer were definately on, now I think about it, more events are coming back to me. I spent the entire Iron Maiden set sat way off at the back of the site around a campfire with a bunch of strangers, and I'm sure that a nearby hotel had the dubious pleasure of our patronage

Crikey! Getting old! I was also there in '88.
I was also at the German equivalent in cologne a week later.
I remember testament billed as a lasti min replacement for megadeath . They were the best apart from maiden;)

Last night was great. The sound wasn't brilliant, but the performance was good!

the sound is often hit and miss and download, very much dependant on the wind where its located now

I thought Maiden were good but not great. I think their ballroom days are over - sadly like many of the older rock & metal bands now.
However I found Alice in Chains to be great and a great noise for 4 blokes to produce :D
