funkgod
The band was average at the best.
no, Holly had a great voice, no doubt. Mark O'Toole was a very good bass player and good guitarist as well ped was solid tight drummer. marks lines on WTTPD are well played and just CLASSIC, They loved music, loved playing live, young, arrogant, self opinionated, crass, careless, looked good fresh powerfull and positively buzzing with vibrance all the ingredients for a great band. as a band i thought they were epic, i cant even imagine what music they would be doing now if they had stayed together, but im sure it would have had a massive impact on music direction. toneknob
Funny you have posted this track - I have been trying to play this bassline and getting it wrong for nearly thirty years now . It's harder than it first appears . Great line from as very capable player . I once heard Trevor Horn say that Mark O'Toole was a clever player , and this track really shows that .
The main groove is transcribed here: http://basslessons.be/transcriptions.php?i=31 - looks good to me. And yes it's harder than it sounds!
toneknob
blimey its a tough crowd on BC, i just thought the record was good
It's a great album, I still have my vinyl copy from 198-mumblemumble, and it's part of small but selct group that accompany me when I go to demo new turntables. (Probably happened three times since then, tbh)

iiipopes
Relax. It was fun being around the music scene when Frankie first hit the charts, MTV, etc.
