Great work, thanks for sharing! :)

Can I ask a question about cutting the fret slots? I see you used a fretsaw against a bit of square scrap, but how did you get the paper template underneath? Is that something you can print accurately from a computer, or do you buy templates for a specific scale length?

Mounted some hardware.

In the end I made my choice to go for the black variation of the truss rod covers.
I already made them, together with the silver colored variant I showed here before, at the time I thought I preferred those, but now together with all the other mounted black hardware the black ones look better.

It's copper tape with a conductive sticky side (bought in a Dutch online shop, I can give you the address if you want), the green wire is the ground wire for the bridge, the copper that is on the cover will touch the tape that's just bent over the edge of the cavity and thus create a connection.

Thanks very much.

I presume you're using a similar product to, say, this one: http://www.ebay.co.u...e-/290972996874 It would probably be cheaper to buy it from the UK, but please tell me if your source has a higher quality product or if there is some other reason why it would be better to buy from Holland.

I'd been wondering what to do about shielding, and the tape sounded a bit fiddly. But looking at your very neat work, makes me think that I should give it a go. DId you cut yourself on the tape? I've read that when shielding with copper foil, it's near inevitable that the person doing it will suffer a few paper cuts.

Yes the tape I'm using looks similar, only the one I'm using is a 1/2 inch wide.
I assume that the tape you can buy in the UK is the same kind of quality as the one we've got over here, so I would advise you to buy it in the UK.

Never cut myself with this tape yet, but I work with metals for a living and should know how to handle the stuff.
Tape is indeed a bit fiddly to use but gives the best shielding result, as long as you work with some care with this kind of tape you don't have worry about cutting yourself.

Thanks again. I've purchased the tape as in the ebay link, and will look carefully at your pictures as an example when I attempt to shield my 'experimental' bass.

Don't worry about it, it's not nearly as difficult as it seems. I found the hardest part was soldering a grounding wire to it.
