Twigman Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 (edited) I've been pumping a 25Hz sine wave through my HA3500 to break in my new S12T. I switched the wave off a few hours ago, got on with some stuff and then decided to have a play with my bass..... but the amp seems dead. The valve is glowing, the lights and fan are on.....but there's no noise coming out. Could my new cab have killed the amp? Edited June 15, 2013 by Twigman Quote
Mr. Foxen Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Cab is passive, if the cab is working right, then it's something else. Quote
gjones Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Make sure you're not plugged into the headphone socket by mistake (already had somebody put a post up about that today). Quote
Musicman20 Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Is it wise to run that through an amp?! Personally I wouldn't bother breaking a cab in. It's not massively necessary. Hope it's ok!!! Quote
Twigman Posted June 15, 2013 Author Posted June 15, 2013 False alarm!!! Everything is fine....when I moved the rig I was an idiot and plugged the cab into the Effects Send Ha Ha Ha I am indeed a douchebag!! I don't think the 25Hz wave was a problem - I ran it at line level out of my DAW to the Effects return input on the head. It made the house sound full of helicopters for a few hours and probably didn't help my relationship with the neighbours but it's over now..... and everything is hunky dory Quote

The guy who posted, earlier today, about plugging into the headphone socket by mistake actually took his amp back to the shop to get a refund.
