AMPEG B-1R 150w 1u head with valve preamp £150

The B-1R is a compact 1u rack unit with a three stage valve preamp (2 x 12AX7) and a solid state power amp. The R refers to the (Rack) head rather than the combo version of the amp, not reverb.

I originally bought it because it had 2 channels and channel switching by footswitch (not included - but normal Marshall type FS works OK). At the time I was playing a lot of solos with an acoustic rock group and this was a very useful feature.

For a small amp it has a pretty high spec, with features such as a 15dB pad, Ultra Low and Ultra High switches and well as Bass and Treble pull shifts on the tone pots. It has an switchable optocoupler limiter.

Sound-wise it is probably closer to an SVT Classic than an SVT Pro.

I bought this about 5 years ago and I have rarely gigged it, most of the time it was in a rack case and used as a backup (or in this case not used). Selling because I need to downsize my collection of bass amps and buy a small lightweight combo.
