Hutton
Can anyone recommend any gadgets/headphones/wee amps which will allow silent or low volume practice. Before anyone says turn your amp down I should say that whatever is used has to be reasonably small. Thanks peeps!
discreet
I know some guys in a band who use this thing and say it's cool, but I haven't used it myself. http://www.jamhub.com/ Or did you mean for your solitary pleasure..? Hutton
Sorry, I should have said that it was for solo practice.
andyonbass
I have a Vox Bass Amplug you can have for fifteen quid posted - should tick the box Edit. Dont worry mods, I've paid the twenty quid! Edited June 18, 2013 by andyonbass
EssentialTension
Expensive compared to the Vox above but I use a Phil Jones Bass Buddy wired up for bass and iTunes library through headphones or speakers.
essexbasscat
You could get a secondhand cheap 8 channel mixer. Run you tube and whatever gadgets through it (including your tv if you like) and your bass, listen through head phones or through living room speakers connected to the output sockets, even run spare speaker outputs from the auxillaries to the bedroom if you want ! One multi solution piece of kit, play along to whatever you have, won't cost a fortune Edited June 18, 2013 by essexbasscat
Muzz
+1for the Amplug, it's not the most versatile tone-wise, but it's very small and convenient, and does the trick. If you connect an iPod, you can even wander round the place... I have a Micro Cube which replaced the Amplug, but it's a lot more cash. Hutton
Thanks for the replies everybody. Much appreciated. Andy has sorted me out with an Amplug. You post up a problem and two hours later it's dealt with. Gotta love basschat! Edited June 18, 2013 by Hutton
Horizontalste
I recently bought a Tascam Bass Trainer for practicing at work. It's so good I keep missing shouts
I'm guessing the Roland micro cub RX? been looking at one myself- i'd be interested to hear your opinion on them- at nigh on 200 quid new do you think they're worth it. loud enough to busk for example?
