noisy tweeter

Hi all.

Is it normal to get a crackling or static sort of sound from the tweeter on a 2x10 cab when the tweeter is turned right up? It disappears completely when the tweeter is turned right down.

[sup]No - but it doesn't necessarily mean it's knackered. I have had this when it was plugged into an amp which had a grounding problem. I'm not sure what amp you are using, but it may be worth tightening up the PCB (if it has one) inside and checking that the amp has a good ground.[/sup]
