Kraken Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 on my 2002 (ish) mexican Jazz bass one of the screws that are used for setting the height of the Bridge Saddles on the E-string has during the course of playing started lowering the height of the string, causing all sorts of intonation and fret buzz issues while I am playing. beyond replacing the screw is there anything I can do quickly and easily to stop it doing this? thank you Quote
stinson Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I believe a light coating of clear nail varnish will stop it moving Quote
Kraken Posted June 20, 2013 Author Posted June 20, 2013 smashing, thanks I shall give it a go. In the meantime, other suggestions gratefully recieved. Quote

Kraken Posted June 21, 2013 Author Posted June 21, 2013 Smashing, I'll get some of that as well. ok last appeal for other ideas... Quote
tedmanzie Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 i put locktite 243 (med strength) on mine as i couldn't find any 221 (low strength) locally. its about £4. the extra strength seems not to matter as i needed to undo one the other day and it was fine. Quote
