It was a pleasure Jeff. All the sockets are Speakon/Jack combos so that you can use any mix of connectors. There is another version which is a one to two splitter which allows you to run two cabs from an amp with a single outlet. Useful if the cabs have single input connectors.

In parallel as normal either from two amp outputs or linked cab to cab the impedance halfs hence most people have a pair of 8 ohm cabs and a 4 ohm minimum head, in series the impendances are added up so you would get 8 ohms which if all the amp gurus on here are correct then the fact your head is running at 8 ohm rather than 4 won't matter a jot but double the amount of cabs will, a lot! Plus you can always get 4 4x12 cabs and another series box for some 16x12 action :yarr:

Depending on your cabs you could put a switch on them to make the cabs series wired taking them up to 8 ohm then use them as normal giving the head a 4 ohm load.

Ok, so I'm a complete dumbass when it comes to stuff like this :(

Would it be possible to have something similar that makes 2 x 4 ohm cabs appear as a single 4 ohm load to an amp?

Sadly not Barry, but you can run the two cabs at 8-ohms and enjoy the extra air movement. Up until recently I've been running 2 Schroeder 1212Ls together as 8-ohms and never got anywhere near running out of steam.

It makes no difference what the impedances of the cabs are. Putting them in series will just add them so 8 + 4 will give 12-ohms.

One of the things you need to consider however is whether the two cabs are in-phase or not but that can be easily checked.
