ambient
My 22 year old much loved TRB6-P bass developed a problem with the input jack. I bought a new Neutrik one and my brother who's a whiz with a soldering iron fitted it for me. I've got the same problem though, it cuts out when you wiggle the jack plug about. If you hold it in one place it's fine, but the weight of the lead causes it to move, and cut out. They have a long barrel type socket. How easy is it to fit a regular jack socket ? Is it really a job for a luthier to do ? Edited June 21, 2013 by ambient
Truckstop
I had the same problem with an RBXJM1. Turned out to be a preamp issue and ended up costing quite a lot of money (for the person that bought it off me!). Sorry Truckstop
ambient
Thanks , it's definitely just the input jack though. I've read that it's a common problem with this type of socket. The jack socket is attached to the preamp by wires, so I don't think moving the jack plug from side to side would have any effect on the preamp.
