bubinga5
I was just browsing certain slap bass technique vids on youtube. i realised that i dont use use any left hand percussive elements in my slap playing, i also realised instinctively why i dont.. one thing im really not fond of is overly percussive slap bass, i really think it takes the music/notes away.. i never use triplets or any other intricate techniques for this reason.. dont get me wrong, it adds a great amount of rythmical attributes to the sound, and in a solo its great but in a song i just view it as over kill , but maybe thats why i view slap bass as just another technique, that should be used sparingly, and more importantly, musically. anyone else feel this way.? thisnameistaken
Yeah I don't do that much either. I prefer the old '70s sound to the bin-full-of-cutlery stuff that came later.
