I know the Peavey Brian Broberg basses fron the early 90's are sought after nowadays by certain folks . These look to be an update on that design , and I expect they are comfortable and well- balanced .

I like it, very 80's, and tonnes of people rave about Carvin - I don't do purple though, a nice ocean turquoise for me!

Comes in a range of colours...the transparent green with the 5AAA Maple top is a winner in my book.

Mmmmm - yawn from a man with 4 Fenders and a Warwick?

Interesting.

In what way? I just find it a boring looking bass.

imho the colour look s a bit too loud in that pic - like it's been 'shopped a wee bit to increase the saturation or luminance to make the purple even more 'wow' <_<

I've played a couple of these and they are seriously nice. The neck profile must be about the slimmest I've ever tried and with the great fretwork that you get in Carvins they are a dream to whiz around :)

The finish will be the 'triple step' option which really brings out the depth of the flame and curly maple tops (especially on darker colours).

This one is pretty cool :

Lovely colour!
I've only played a couple of Carvins (a friend of mine has a 6 string bass) but they've all been top notch quality-wise, as good as anything I've played.

so he's had the same sig model by Peavey, Dean and now Carvin?

I remember tentatively enquiring with Bill Lewington/Dean about that version.

In the right colour it's a corking looking bass.

Flamed tops are pretty bling to begin with but putting a translucent colour over them makes for a hideous looking bass.

Better let Paul Reed Smith know he's been making a big mistake in building his, globally successful brand, based on such a bad idea :)

I think it's a bit pointy... so slightly '80s.

He's done the same design with loads of companies which I can't remember - Peavey?

Purple looks quite nice... Gassing for the Carvin Allan Holdsworth guitar too.

Go for it!

In the right colour these look really cool I think.

I've helped spec a few up for people but I don't know anyone who's bought one. I'd really like to see one in the flesh :)
