Pow_22
Decided i want to get my main rig back to an all valve effort. Seen one of these Bugera's on thommans b-stock list and was wondering if anyone had tried them at all? Few google searches seem to show people really rate them as a bass amp but my concern would be clean headroom - dont want it to break-up TOO early. So far my valve 'want' list is Sound City 200 or 150 (ive had the 120 and whilst it didnt have the balls at bigger volumes the tone was amazing) but this Bugera seems fairly cheap and so far fairly decent reveiws. Any thoughts (other than the obligatory ''you do know this is behringer and will catch fire yadayada'')
umph
if you struggled with the sound city for volume you're gonna struggle with the behringer
Pow_22
It wasnt so much volume i struggled with its just the SC broke up into a valvey mushness way too quickly, even with tinkered pre amp valve swaps. I think the active EQ didnt help on those 120's
Mr. Foxen
Sounds like the SC120 needed a recap. They'll stamp all over the Behringer working right, more everything. The behringer will probably be better than a broken sound city though.
umph
yeah, the marshall design doesn't lend itself to headroom either
