paddy109
Played a pub gig last night and had dreadful feedback problems all night with my strings vibrating like crazy. To give me a little more depth I put a little out front through the pa rather than just going through my wizzy. Messed about with volume and eq on both my pro plat, amp and pa amp none of which made much difference. In the end I just made the best out of a bad situation and tried to mute my strings as much as possible. The room played in was long and narrow with a lowish ceiling and the overall sound seemed to come back at us behind front of house speakers (if that makes sense) but we were no louder than normal. Any suggestions on what I could have done to combat feedback or is it just sometimes it's just how it is?
thisnameistaken
Did you have any speakers close to your bass, or pointing at it? Ideally you want everybody's backline as far away from you as possible.
danthevan
as above really, stay away from everything with a speaker in it. Worst culprits are usually stage monitors. The shape of the room shouldn't make too much difference unless you were bl**dy loud!
paddy109
Perhaps it was the monitor and that was why it seemed too loud - no other backlined. Guitars and singers eh - more me more me!
